    Welcome to a new year at Dalian Maple Leaf Foreign National School, welcome (or for some of you, welcome back) to preschool, and welcome to our Preschool wiki page! This year we have so many new, eager new students that we have TWO preschool classes! Below you will find a short introduction to both new teachers and their assistants.

    Amy Li, Preschool assistantMs. Amy is the preschool’s assistant. She has previous experience in Chinese preschool settings and teaching English to students, ranging in age from 3 to 6 years old, for the past 7 years. Ms. Lin is excited to be working with Ms. Benson and the pre-school students this year. This will be Ms. Lin’s 7th year at MLFNS-Dalian.

    Emily Desormeaux, preschool teacher
    Ms. Emily is originally from the Eastern Townships in rural Quebec.
    She found her love for teaching in northern Thailand where she spent oneyear teaching English to Burmese migrant students in 2009-10. In 2012 she received her ESL/EFL teaching certificate from Oxford Seminars. In 2014 she graduated from Bishop's University in Sherbrooke, Quebec, where she specialized in International Studies, International Political Economy and German. She loves to travel, try new food, laugh, dance and do yoga. She is thrilled to be teaching preschool and is excited to share this new adventure with her students.

    Ms. Edith received her Major of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from WaiYan Training Center Beijing
    Ms. Helen Shi ~ Preschool Assistant
    Ms. Shi is joining the
    Foreign Studies University. She has previously taught at the Confucius Institute, Sihanouk HighNationals School and worked in Phnom Penh where she coached and invigilatedthis year as the HSK.preschool assistant. She studied tourism, enjoys learning about other cultures and has experience teaching Korean to Chinese children. She is pleasedvery excited to work with the preschool students at MLFNS-Dalianbe part of our team and is

    Preschool teacherMs. Yang was born and raised in Toronto, where she studied Early Childhood Education at Ryerson University and received her Bachelor of Arts in 2013. In 2014 she obtained her Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University in Kingston. Miss Yang is passionate about professional development and personal growth, and looks forward to cultivating a love for learning in each of her students.
